AplusO is a globally engaged architectural design practice, anchored in Hong Kong and Seoul, dedicated to crafting responsive and context-driven built environments. Founded by Eungsoo Kim and Dohoon Kim, whose shared academic foundation began at the University of Pennsylvania, the studio synthesizes extensive cross-market expertise cultivated in New York, Hong Kong, and Seoul. This globally informed yet locally attuned perspective allows the practice to navigate complex programmatic challenges across a diverse spectrum of architectural typologies, including residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, cultural, and public developments.

Eungsoo Kim

Eungsoo Kim is a distinguished architect with over two decades of experience across the United States, China, South Korea, India, and Hong Kong. He has collaborated with renowned firms such as Cesar Pelli, SOM, and Benoy, and prominent developers like Mapletree. His work focuses on using architecture to enrich lives and communities through sustainable and innovative design.
He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and has received notable accolades, including third place in an international competition in Busan, Korea, and the Dales Traveling Fellowship. He is a member of the Tau Sigma Delta Architecture Honor Society.
Beyond his design work, Eungsoo is dedicated to community engagement and education. He has lectured and served as a juror in South Korea and Hong Kong, and is involved with the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the National Unification Advisory Council. He also advises BHM (Breaking Housing Matters) on housing design and financial strategies, highlighting his commitment to creating impactful spaces. His global experience, innovative approach, and focus on sustainability have established him as a visionary in architecture.
Dohoon Kim

Dohoon Kim brings a breadth of professional experience from architectural firms in New York and Seoul, and holds architectural licenses in South Korea and New York State, along with LEED AP accreditation.
He received his Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the E. Lewis Dales Traveling Fellowship, and his Bachelor of Architecture from Kookmin University.
In addition to his private sector work across a wide range of project types, Dohoon is actively engaged in the public sector through various roles, including as a Public Architect for the Seoul Metropolitan Government and other civic initiatives. He is also a Public Architect for Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), contributing to community-focused and infrastructural design. He currently teaches architectural design studio as an adjunct professor at Kookmin University, further reflecting his commitment to design excellence, public engagement, and education.
